The Beautiful Life

I became a fan of this series just by watching the preview. It's called The Beautiful Life, and things sure look beautiful up there. It's all about the models and their daily life drama. Zac Posen will appear as a guest star as well. They will be filming an episode "live" from his show. Meaning that you can actually see all the drama that goes backstage in a Zac Posens fashion show. CAN'T WAIT.

Weird Habit

I have this weird habit that everytime I have alot of things to do, I just leave everything and go to bed. The bigger problem is that now I have exams. I was supposed to start studying from Wednesday, but again, instead, I fell asleep. I get so nervous around exams that I dont want to do anything. I dont know why though. I mean I've attended the classes, understood what the Drs have said, done my homeworks but then again I get so freaking nervous when the exams are here. I know its stupid, but I really don't know what to do. I wish you all the best of luck in your exams, and for me, I just wish that I would actually open a book and study.

Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian knows excatly what to wear and when to wear it. You know that this is a falls/summers upcoming trend when you spot Kims wearing it. Lady In Red

I'm sure you guys have seen or at least heard about Salwa's interview in AlWatan TV. If not then I can honestly say that you have missed the most entertaining interview ever. The thing that really caught my eyes (other than the REDNESS all over ) was her confidence. She talks in such confidence that was really amusing to see. Now lets talk fashion, the matchy matchy look of yours is way over the top. Hopefuly you'll tune things down a little next time. For the sake of our eyes at least.

Women Rule

To be honest, I only expected one woman to win the elections. But four?? that's beyond expectations, my expectations. It is so great to see how women have won the votes and trust of so many people. That's just amazing. I just hope that our new MP's (both women and men) will keep their promises. I hope they will work together towards what is best for Kuwait. I hope that this change is a change for the best. I hope that people can realize by now who is and is not fit for a position as an MP. Ameen.

Step Five

We got the floor plan today from our designers and their final touches of what the ballroom will look like. The theme is exactly what we wanted, and the runway has an amazing twist to it. I wish I could upload some pictures for you to see but i dont want to ruin it. I think it is better to come with no idea of what you are about to see than to come expecting and knowing everything in advance. Now all we have to do is pick a good company to execute the work. That's our step five.

Our Ummah

We couldn't stop ourselves of getting more items from One Ummah. The brand has a great message along with great designs. This time, we picked some caps from their new collection. There is a big variety to choose from. Black, navy, white and also pink for girls. The caps are not just colored caps, they have prints and symbols which represents our community and lives. We hope you like it.

What's in your bag?

"Shanta" has once again topped our brands list. Their latest creation is a clear bag with a brief case look. The colors are bright ( of course ) and the inside material has patterns on it. Every pattern matches the leathers color. It's breath taking. Im sure you guys will agree with me once you get to see them. After 3 days you can get your Shanta.

A New Brand

We would like to introduce to you our latest brand "One Ummah". "One Ummah" is a UK based clothing line which is run by a group of guys from the middle east. Its main goal is to promote peace and unite people from all over the world. I love how each item carries a different message. A message of peace, forgiveness and patience. I also love how they use arabic letters to form english words. Chethi.

Step Zero

This step was supposed to be our first. We were supposed to divide the work between us before starting anything. Instead, we were working on the same thing, the same time and getting the same results. We would have accomplished more if we had split into groups from the begining. Lets just say that dividing the work made life much easier.

Step Four

4- Interior designer ( check )

A fashion show wouldn't be complete, wouldn't actually BE a fashion show without its interior decorations. Choosing a designer that would take your theme to the runway, seating and the ballroom is a huge decision. We picked someone very carefuly, and they didn't let us down. Again, its a 100% Kuwaiti fashion show, so our interior designer is that too.

Step Three

Models are the most important aspect of any fashion show. They make or break the look. No matter how good the clothes are, models make it look better. Since we want the fashion show to be 100% Kuwaiti, we are trying our best to look for Kuwaiti models. So far we have no problems in that. Although the number is still small, we will not give up in looking for more.

Step Two

I personally thought that getting the word out and looking for talented Kuwaiti designers will be very hard. Not that we dont have great designers here, but to actually reach them. We spent three weeks looking for such designers and only found three. But when the word got out, and i have no idea how it did ( not that im complaining ), the work was cut out for us. Instead of going to places faar faaar away, the designers and all their contact numbers were at our inbox. After meeting with them to see their work, I can honestly say that picking the best was not easy. We managed, and have choosen our finalists.

Step One

So we're done with our first step which was choosing the theme. I'll give you some hints so that I wouldn't ruin the whole thing. It consists of two main colors, one is very dark, the darkest color to be exact. The other color is bright. That's it. My lips are sealed.

On the first of october, we are going to have a fashion show featuring all our new Kuwaiti designers. It will be a great opportunity for you to see it live on a runway. The show will be held at Salwa AlSabah ballroom. We will keep you updated with all the details. First Look

I'm sharing with you today the first item of Q8Chic's label. Its a girlish pink skirt that has a sophisticated party spirit to it. I say that because its color reflects the little girl inside all of us. The texture and length however makes it more sophisticated. The collection will follow the same vibe that this skirt gives you. And the rest of it will be unveiled soon. VERY soon.

The Label

We're taking a new step in creating our own label. Not only will we feature the creations of others, we will create our very own too. Q8Chic's brand will be directed for girls between the age of sixteen and twenty six. The collection will include short party dresses, colorful skirts and alot of trendy wear. All in affordable prices of course.

I am a big fan of jeans and simple-plain tops. I'm up for anything that would spice it up a little. Weither hug necklaces, or any kind of eye-catching accessories. All-By-N is a lebanese brand that takes your daily outfit to the next level. It's a unique concept scarves that can be worn by both men and women. I've posted two of the eight styles of All-By-N scarves that will be available for you by Thursday.

Shanta

We have recently added Shanta to our brands list. Shanta is a brand created by two close friends. The Collection includes bags, hair accessories, clutches and passport covers. I personally love how detailed these girls are. I mean, even the buttons on each bag is different than the other. You'll have the first look at their summer collection here in March.

It really gets on my nerves when I dont get a reply to something that I asked about or get it really late!. So I can truely say I understand how our customers felt not getting their replies on time. The problem was that both of our accounts were not working for three months. It was out of our hands really. After fixing that and seeing all the emails that were sent to us, it made me feel really bad. Now, we check both info and orders at q8chic.com three times a day and we also have a new line that you can contact us on directly. Hala Febrayer

This is the time of the year where all our differences are put aside. Hala Febrayer(February) really brings out the true spirit of us Kuwaities. As I speak, the celebration has already started but the street festival however will start later. There are lots of activities in which you can participate in. Activities for both young and old. I for one will be there for sure. So dont miss out on this and come have some fun. And fun is what we really need. And i mean really really NEED.

What's that on your head?

Headbands are sooo in!! Big flowers, random shapes and lots and lots of feather. I think that Gossip Girl was behind this trendy look. Blair Waldorf to be exact. She wore a matching headband to every occasion she went to, and even cute like bow headbands to school. Let me tell you, there are two reasons to why I watch that show, ONE is definitely Blair and her awesome outfits. TWO, the show itself is great. Nowadays lots of Kuwaiti girls are creating their own headbands business, and AlDalaly Headbands are one of them. One of the best to be honest.

Fringe It On!

The one thing I noticed and loved so much this winter was the fringe!. Celebrities like Vanessa Hudgens, Mischa Barton and Kate Moss all rocked the fringe trend. From boots to bags to vests. In my opinion, wearing it with a pair of jeans and plain top would look perfect. And the key is not to over dress it with accesories, keep it simple and let it do the magic. The Start

Welcome to the official blog of Q8Chic.com. Here; we'll share our thoughts and ideas of what we think would help boost our fan list. We will also take notes of how to make the website your favourite! Since this is the first post here, I would like to share the humble story behind Q8Chic. I was always annoyed by the crowd and the craziness that occurs in shops. From the fitting room, to the cashier. I also hated it when I lose track of time and then realize I haven't found what I was looking for. I went shopping in the morning just to avoid that, and in a way I did. The problem really had me when I started my first year in the university. I couldn't shop at all!! It was either I shop in the morning, which i couldn't because of the classes I had that time, or in the weekends, which I also couldn't because everyone would be out shopping and enjoying their free-of-work weekend mornings. So that's when the idea of shopping online crossed my mind. I loved the shopping websites and their offers, but the only problem was the time it took to deliver. I thought I was the only one facing this prblem, but then i discovered that my friends were facing this problem too. And that is how the idea of Q8Chic was born. Creating a Kuwait based webstore that would allow people to shop and then get their items delivered within hours. It's a simple idea that would really help alot of people. Shopping in malls for hours and not finding what you're looking for could be very frustrating, but browsing the net for minutes and not finding what you want wouldn't be such a frustration as your doing it in the comfort of your home!
